AROUND THE WORLD IN 45 YEARS
The author describes his early years surviving the air raids which destroyed both his school and home in Frankfurt, Germany, during World War II, before immigrating to the United States.
In 1960 he joined the Department of Defense Schools as a young teacher, initially taking him on an eighteen day ship ride across the Pacific to his first assignment. Serving in various educational positions, he describes his life on Okinawa, returning to his native Germany where he witnessed both the fall of the Wall and the reunification of Berlin; living thirty miles from the North Korean border in Seoul; supervising a 6,200 mile school district out of Adana, Turkey and winding up his 45 year career residing near Venice, Italy.
